Introducing The Wesley Hallers!

The University of Winnipeg Collegiate has a reputation for creating wildly smart and thoughtful individuals who leave the classrooms of Wesley Hall as determined alumni ready for any challenge. The Collegiate is immensely proud of all graduates, a fact that has inspired us to reach out and reconnect with as many of you as possible. Unfortunately, we have lost contact with many of our former students since you were in high school, so many of the home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses we have on file are no longer valid.

We want to know what you've been up to and keep you in the loop on what The Collegiate is doing too!

Did you know 2019 returned Tony's to The Collegiate? Or that we hold reunions?

For this reason, The Collegiate and The University of Winnipeg Foundation have partnered on an exciting new initiative to re-engage our Collegiate Alum. We have hired three very impressive current Collegiate students and one recent grad who will be texting, calling, and messaging you on social media to ask you to update your email address and update us on YOU.

If you have any questions contact Cindy Doyle at 204.988.7509 /c.doyle@uwinnipeg.ca

Hi!

As a member of The Collegiate’s Student Council and BIPOC club, I’ve enjoyed working with staff and students to help create a welcoming environment for both new and old students. As of 2021, I’ll be starting grade 11 at the Collegiate, so this will be my third year on campus. Computer science and geography are my favourite subjects and I hope to learn as much as I can before graduating—after which I’d like to study electrical and biomedical engineering at University.

Hey!

Over the course of my time at The Collegiate, I have come to appreciate both the level of freedom afforded to us as students and the academic bond that develops between the staff and students. I’ve also enjoyed many of the extracurricular activities hosted at The Collegiate, with Spirit Week, Fall Outing, and Basketball season being among my favourites. I’m looking forward to my final year at school, strengthening my French and history skills, and staying connected to the campus community through my volunteer work. After graduating, I plan to study Political Science and Law.

Hello!

As part of the graduating class of 2022, I hope to make my final grade 12 year a memorable one at The Collegiate! Math and English are my subjects of choice, with an emphasis on the analytical side of the coursework. Like many of my peers, I enjoy the level of freedom and responsibility given to those enrolled, which goes a long way in helping prepare us for professional work in the future. After graduating, I’d like to find work in the world of medicine or as a healthcare worker.

Hi!

Having graduated in 2021, I am proud to count myself as part of The Collegiate’s community of alumni! During my time as a student I worked on the school paper, “The Communicator” for three years. I enjoyed learning about our community and being able to edit and write stories that mattered to those around me. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to attend such an amazing school and look forward to remaining on campus as I will be working toward my Criminal Justice degree at UWinnipeg this coming fall.

The Collegiate Priorities

Dean’s Continuing Scholarship Fund

Many students begin their journey at the Collegiate supported by its strong entrance scholarship program and the Dean’s Bursary Fund. With many students’ first-year expenses covered, our newest priority is to expand the student award program to better aid students in their second, third, and fourth years of study. To this end, the Collegiate has established the Dean’s Continuing Scholarship Fund in honour of all Collegiate Dean’s who provided a fundamental, educational experience for each Collegiate student. With donor support, these scholarships will recognize the academic achievements of the Collegiate’s existing student body and will encourage students to continue their hard work throughout their academic careers.

Millennium Entrance Scholarships

These are awarded to students with averages over 90% who did not receive the regular Entrance Scholarship. This scholarship ensures the best and brightest are not only able to attend The Collegiate, but can enter with pride knowing their hard work has been recognized.

The Model School

The Model School at The University of Winnipeg Collegiate provides students with the opportunity and the support needed to graduate from high school and prepare for post-secondary education. The students enrolled in the program are from backgrounds that have traditionally been under-represented in both high school and post-secondary graduation rates.Click here to learn more about The Model School.
