Statement on conflict in Ukraine

Message from Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. James Currie

The university is deeply concerned by Russia’s military attacks in Ukraine, the impact on the country’s citizens and international stability, and closer to home the impact on Manitoba’s Ukrainian community.

We have a long-standing and deep relationship with the Ukrainian community and stand alongside calls for a quick de-escalation and resolution of this war.

News of this attack is very troubling. If you are concerned about loved ones in the region or are personally affected by the evolving conflict, supports are available:

For students:Student Counselling Servicesis available to provide support and counselling to students. University counsellors are working off site, but are available to provide telephone support. Please emailstudentwellness@uwinnipeg.caor call 204.988.7611 to arrange a telephone meeting.
