Affordable Housing
The负担得起的住房租赁计划(hereafterAffordable Housing) is designed for lower-to-moderate income households whose Total Household Income (THI) is below the Program Income Limit (PIL). The household must meet all eligibility criteria below to qualify for affordable housing.
Students who are not eligible for the Affordable Housing program may still apply forMarket Rate单位。负担得起的住房率和市场利率之间的差异is listed here.
Note that while requirements 1-4 are required for affordable housing, requirement 3 is applicable to both affordable housing and market rate units.
Students can select to either option duringthe application process.
Eligibility Requirements
1.Be either a Canadian Citizen, a permanent legal resident of Canada, or a refugee claimant.
- See item "4." below for accepted forms of documentation.
2. Have a total household income below the Affordable Housing Program Income Limit:
- Household without children: $63,450 (2021)
- Household with children: $84,600 (2021)
3. Comply with National Occupancy Standards:

- A maximum of two persons per bedroom.
- Parents and children may not occupy the same bedroom.
- Adult household members aged 18 and over have separate bedrooms, except those living as part of a married or common-law couple.
- Household members under 18 years of age of the same sex share a bedroom.
- Household members under 5 years of age of the opposite sex may share a bedroom if doing so would reduce the number of required bedrooms. (This situation would arise only in households with an odd number of males under 18, an odd number of females under 18, and at least one female and one male under the age of 5.)
- Occupancy Standards are applicable to both market rate and affordable housing units.
4. Provide documentation affirming compliance with the above:

Affordable Housing Application Process
申请人预计回顾了等于offordable Housing eligibility criteria and collected the required documentation before applying to Campus Living.
To apply, submit a “Family Housing” application on the StarRez Portal. Anon-refundable application feeis required to start an application, and applications will not be processed by Campus Living before receiving the required documentation. If the documentation is approved, applicants pay anapplication depositto accept the room offer and reserve the room. (NOTE: This deposit is not required for current residents renewing their room for an upcoming term.)
