Remote Learning / Zoom Video Conference

The Zoom Video Conference Platform is one of the modes of teaching that will be used for courses that are not offered in-person. To access the Zoom lectures, you will need:

  • a computer with access to high speed internet
  • speakers/earphones to be able to hear the instructor
  • microphone and/or webcam to be able to participate with audio and/or video if required - text chat may be used if your instructor has enabled this function

Will online courses affect my Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Eligibility?

Students在加拿大will not have their PGWP eligibility affected by taking online courses due to shifts in the course delivery method due to COVID-19, or if they were forced to drop the term or become part-time students in Winter/Spring/Summer term.

Yes, students with a valid study permit (Visa or an eTA, if applicable) can go home and return to Canada. Please note that the flight ban from India has been extended to September 21, 2021.

I have been accepted into a study program but cannot apply for a Visa as office are closed. What should I do?

If you are outside Canada, we encourage you to still submit anonline application你尽快做。

Once the application is submitted, you may be asked byImmigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) to give biometrics or medical exam results.

Travel/Quarantine Questions

Can I travel to Canada for my studies?

What are the requirements for COVID testing and quarantine for international students who are travelling?

As of September 26, passengers travelling on direct flights from India will need to:

  • obtain a pre-departure negative COVID-19 molecular test result from the Genestrings Laboratory, located above the metro station in the Airport Connect Building (ACB) at the India Gandhi International Airport
  • perform this test within 18 hours before their scheduled departure
  • present the test report with a QR code issued by this laboratory to the air operator before boarding

Vaccination Questions

Always follow the advice from your local health authority regarding vaccine eligibility, availability and timing, to choose the vaccine that is most suitable for your personal circumstances.

However, for travel purposes,旅行变化announced on July 5, 2021 may exempt you from some travel and quarantine requirements if you have received the full series of a vaccine — or combination of vaccines — accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.

Travel Grants

In light of the COVID -19 pandemic and the implementation of the health and safety measures that have caused either the cancellation or postponement of this season’s academic conferences, the Faculty of Graduate Studies has decided to provide the travel grant award winners with three options so that they may still use their travel grant award. This opportunity is extended toall students who won Travel Awards, whether or not they graduate before they take up their award.

  2. Deferment of the travel grant to use for another conference within the next academic year (before the end of August 2021).
