Presidents' National Dialogue looks at change and improved public policy

WINNIPEG, MB –UWinnipeg President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lloyd Axworthy will be presenting at thePresidents’ National Dialogueat theUniversity of OttawaonFriday, October 23, 2009onAboriginal Affairs.Axworthyis one offive Presidents of Canada’s leading research universities that will join forces to present at the national conference to examine the role of the university in the development of public policy. James B. Steinberg, Deputy Secretary of State, United States Department of State is the keynote speaker.

Universities are known as centres of knowledge and expertise in public policy development. With their capacity for critical thought and independent research, universities have much to offer and can contribute significantly to an open and rigorous policy-making process in Canada. Topics to be discussed include the environment, health, foreign affairs, economy and Aboriginal Affairs.
