Tri-Council Doctoral Awards
The Tri-Agency doctoral awards provide financial support to scholars engaged in research in doctoral programs in and outside of Canada. NSERC and SSHRC each have their own application processes.

How to Apply
Applicants who have been registered at a post-secondary institution within the calendar year arerequiredto submit their applicationsthrough the University at which they were registered.
Applicants who were not registered at a post-secondary institution in the calendar year are required to make adirect applicationthe agency via theOn-line System. The deadline for direct applications is set by the funding agency and their website should be consulted.
Please note that in 2019 there will be a new application process for CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC. Applications for all agencies will be made through the same platform.
