The Department of Indigenous Studies recommends that graduate students seek external funding. We are able to make internal funds available on a limited basis.The University of Winnipeg Foundation’sgenerous donors provide several awards that support MA in Indigenous Studies students. Financial assistance administered by theAwards & Financial Aid Officesupports the access and excellence mandate of The University of Winnipeg through a comprehensive program of scholarships, awards, prizes and bursaries.

Awardsare given to students based on financial need and academic achievement.

Bursariesare awarded to students who demonstrate financial need.

Scholarshipsare awarded for academic achievement.

PrizesandMedalsare awarded for academic achievement and are normally given at convocation, upon graduation.
