UWinnipeg’s mask and vaccine mandates put safety first

At this time of year, our thoughts naturally turn to spring and the promise of warmer weather just around the corner. April is also the end of the winter term. We know based on survey data and consultation that our community is focused on the successful completion of term.

Mask and vaccine mandates continue

In order to minimize disruption, The University of Winnipeg has decided to continue with our safety mandates through to April 30, including the mask and vaccine mandates.

Public Health has been clear since the start of the COVID pandemic that its public health orders and guidelines are the minimum standard. While some restrictions are changing externally, we feel that it is important to provide continuity and certainty.

Preparing to return to campus

Over the coming weeks, we will start the process of welcoming people back to campus, starting with faculty, staff and students. For example, the UWinnipeg Library will reopen on February 28 and we will be making some additional spaces available for bookings. If you are a faculty or staff member, please continue to communicate regularly with your chair / department head / supervisor.

In the coming weeks, we will announce our plans for spring term, which begins on May 2, 2022. We are excited about the prospect of returning to campus so we can be back together.

备用计划的步伐,Collegiate and recreation communities

  • PACE students will not follow the same remote learning plan. If you are a student in a PACE Full-time program (daytime delivery), refer to your Nexus program page for details specific to your program. If you are a student in a PACE Part-time (evening/online/blended delivery), there will be no changes to your course delivery.
  • The Collegiate high school is part of the K-12 system, is not affected by these changes, and will remain in person at this time.
  • Community recreation services and athletics will remain in operation, following current public health orders.

Please visit our Covid-19 site for regular updates and answers to frequently asked questions.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to get vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are double-vaccinated, please protect yourself with a booster shot as soon as you are eligible.

We look forward to all of us being together again soon.

Sincerely,
