Biography:

In 2005 Stroud joined the faculty of the Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Winnipeg where he teaches movement, and acting, as well as directing productions for the Department.

In 2002, he received the prestigious Choo San Goh Award for choreography.

In 2013 Tom assumed the role of Artistic Director of TRIP Dance Inc., renaming it Company Link, a company dedicated on supporting Experimental Theatre and Dance artists living and working in Winnipeg. Stroud’s current research interests are focused on emotion in the acting process. He is a founding member of theEmotional Fluency Projectwhich is an organization dedicated to promoting a safe and ethical practice for actors within the field of contemporary theatre. In 2018 Stroud received a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant for a two-year project titledUtilizing BOS Emotional Effector Patterns as a Mechanism for Emotion Control in Contemporary Acting。该项目与温哥华，不列颠哥伦比亚省和安大略省多伦多的专业演员合作，将情感效应器模式整合到表演过程中。该项目构成了Emotional Fluency Training for the Actorwhich is now being taught to actors and acting teachers nationally and internationally.
